Volunteers Wanted!!!

  Registered Charity No. 1129637

Stocksbridge Community Care Group have been delivering a quality befriending service in your local community for more than a decade. Resulting in additional funding we are interested in recruiting volunteers for the following projects:

Stocksbridge Dementia Café: 1st Thursday of each month 10 am-12 noon at the Venue. People with memory problems or dementia and their carers have the opportunity to meet regularly. Volunteers attend to chat and socialise with people and their carers.

Life Story: TIME Project:  Everyone’s life story is individual and important. We would like these stories to come together into a personalised Life Story Book that is pulled together through conversaton with the person and/or their family. Volunteers visit in the home or place of care and capture their life story.

Dementia Companions: Dementia Companions are volunteers who have been trained as “Dementia Friends”. They are genuinely interested in forming friendships with people who have the condition. Volunteers offer companionship in or out of the home.

Friendly Visitor/Befriending Service: provides company for older people who are lonely and isolated. Volunteers visit them at home for a cup of tea, a chat and possibly an outing.

If you are interested in any of the above roles or would like more information please contact:
